Plus, order a brick, Sunday concerts, emergency alerts and more

Today is July 14, 2023.

  • Morning, all! Expect your garden variety dog day of summer today: partly sunny with a high of 87 degrees and low of 68. But be careful out there Saturday, when we’re forecast to get a heavy thunderstorm that could bring flash flooding and damaging winds. Not every dog is friendly.

Angel of Hope Children’s Memorial brick orders available for fall placement

Helping bereaved parents and families since 2001, the Angel of Hope Children’s Memorial in Stow Silver Springs Cemetery was created to help those who suffer the death of a child. This memorial is a peaceful place for grieving parents whose children have died, before or after birth, to mourn, heal and remember their beloved children.

Nearly 800 bricks, all in memory of children, have been placed at the Angel of Hope Memorial. Bricks will continue to be sold throughout the year at a cost of $100, with placement in the spring and fall. These special bricks may be purchased in memory of any child, regardless of age or where the child was born or lived. They did not have to be Stow residents.

Following placement of the bricks, an inspirational ceremony will be held for the families and friends to honor their children who have become a part of the memorial.

Brick order forms are available at the memorial in Silver Springs Cemetery at 5080 Stow Rd., at www.stowangelofhope.com, or by calling Christine Moncheck at (330) 285-0989. The brick order deadline for fall placement has been extended to Friday, July 21. The brick ceremony will be held in October.

Done deal: Minuteman Press of Stow completes acquisition of Kent’s Copy Print

After 52 years, Copy Print owners Mark and Jill Rhoads decided it was time to retire from the printing business. But their Kent location at 302 N. Water St. isn’t retiring with them, it’s just changing hands: Minuteman Press of Stow acquired Copy Print in a deal that was effective July 1.

  • Minuteman Press of Stow is a full-service graphic and digital printing company with a range of print-related products and services, including business cards and signage.

  • Sherry Frisby is the owner of MPS, located at 4161 Steels Pointe, Ste. 900 in Stow, and will also take over operations of the former Copy Print location.

  • “Sherry Frisby shares our passion for servicing our area with the same professional, friendly and reliable business style,” the Rhoads stated in a Copy Print press release. “I assure you that Minuteman Press of Stow will continue to offer all the same services as in the past.”
