SPOTLIGHT ON THE CHAMBER

Sponsored by the Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber of Commerce

Chamber’s Candidates Luncheon a success; inaugural Fall Foodie Tour set to kick off Oct. 1

By Julie McLain, Executive Director

The Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber recently hosted our first “Candidates Luncheon” on Sept. 19. The event was a forum for candidates running for Stow City Council as well as Munroe Falls City Council. Facilitated by Jeremy Lyle of Heart to Heart Leadership, the candidates’ questions were economic development-focused and designed to help our audience of business owners and community members better understand where our elected officials and candidates stand on a variety of economic development and other related issues facing both communities now and going into the future. A recording of the event is available at https://youtu.be/4evPnmxnBFo.

ARE YOU HUNGRY?
The Fall Foodie Tour is ready to launch Sunday, Oct. 1 in Stow and Munroe Falls! This kickoff event will feature 20+ locally owned and operated restaurants from Oct. 1-31. This is a perfect way to get out in the community and try a new place to eat or go back to an old favorite for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Plan a family night or date night out and make sure you download your passport and participate in the “Fall Foodie Tour.” Keep an eye on the Chamber’s social media pages as well to learn more about our participating businesses!

This event is the first in our series for the GoLocal program, a new Chamber initiative to support our locally owned, independent small business members to keep local dollars local and boost our local economy – a WIN-WIN for all involved.

Everyone can participate in this FREE community event. Community members can download a Fall Foodie Tour Passport from the Chamber website (www.smfcc.com), and if they visit a minimum of six participating local restaurants during the month of October, they can then return the completed passport to the Chamber office (P.O. Box 2714, Stow, OH 44224) by Sunday, Nov. 5 to be entered into a drawing to win a GoLocal e-gift card, our community cash card.

Our goal is to build this Shop Local community feeling in Stow and Munroe Falls. By shopping locally here, we support our independently owned business members, whose owners could be your neighbors and friends. The GoLocal program offers three opportunities: marketing support for our participating business members who do the events, the ability to drive foot traffic into these businesses who participate, and a way for our community to find and support our local members! The GoLocal e-gift card program enables shoppers to support participating businesses throughout the year and makes great stocking stuffers, birthday presents, teacher’s gifts and more.
