Where to see fireworks in Summit County for July 4, 2024

Today is June 27, 2024.

  • Morning, all! After the recent heat wave and yesterday’s rain, we’re in for a nice one today: It’s going to be mostly sunny, pleasant and less humid, with a high of 73 degrees and a low tonight down to 53. And your early July Fourth forecast: 84 degrees with the possibility of some strong thunderstorms. We need those storms to at least hold off long enough to get the Stow Firecracker Run and Fourth of July Parade in.

  • ZONING CODE SURVEY FOR STOW RESIDENTS: City of Stow Planning and Development is asking for residents’ participation in a community engagement survey for the city’s extensive zoning code update. Go here to participate in the survey. For details on what the city has in mind for the updated zoning code, including insight and comments from Stow City Council Member Kyle Herman, read the complete story further down this issue.

  • MUNROE FALLS HISTORICAL SOCIETY WANTS YOUR WWII STORIES: The Munroe Falls Historical Society is collecting stories that residents can share about their parents/grandparents, etc., who helped support our country during World War II. The historical society is especially looking for stories about women who were “Rosie the Riveters,” Goodyear employees who worked on the Corsair fighter aircraft, and similar stories. Include the name of your relative and either where they worked or what they did at home to help the war effort. This information will appear in a presentation the historical society is working on that will be available next year. Email your stories and information to Barb Baltrinic at [email protected], or mail to Barb Baltrinic, 522 Riverdale Cir., Munroe Falls, OH 44262.

  • ATTENTION STOW RESIDENTS: With the July Fourth festivities almost upon us, here’s a reminder of the City of Stow’s fireworks law: Residents may discharge consumer-grade fireworks — in safe conditions — from 4 to 11 p.m. June 28-30 and from 4 to 11 p.m. July 3-7. Stow’s Codified Ordinance prohibits loud noises between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. throughout the year.

  • SILVER LAKE PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE: Silver Lake Village Council will hold a public discussion at 7 p.m. Monday, July 15 on whether sidewalks should be installed on Harriett Road. The hearing will take place at Village Hall at 2961 Kent Rd.

  • The Spotlight has a new feature called “Reader Spotlight,” where you can send us your comments, concerns and suggestions on anything going on in our communities of Stow, Munroe Falls and Silver Lake.
