Election

Not over yet: Recount next in race between Licate and McIntire for Summit County Council seat

The Summit County Council District 3 race between Republican Jeremy McIntire and Democrat David Licate is going to an automatic recount.

McIntire

Licate

Licate, a former Stow City Council member, edged McIntire, a current member of Stow City Council, for the open seat by a mere 164 votes out of 37,228 cast in the Nov. 5 General Election, with the .44% margin falling within the .5% threshold to trigger the automatic recount.

The Summit County Board of Elections says the recount will begin Nov. 26 and is expected to take one or two days to complete.
